Before all the legalese, we wanted to say this: we have kids. We don't like all our information being traded around the internet, and we especially don't like information about our kids being traded around. It's written here below, but just know we only use the child information you give us to make and deliver their story. We don't use it or sell it for anything else.

Growing Minds is a service for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13. All information about children is provided by a parent or guardian on their behalf. By using our service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and are providing information about your child with full parental consent.
The information you provide about your child (name, age, appearance, interests) is used solely to generate their personalized story. We do not share this information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes, and we never send your child's name, age, appearance, or the other details you type about your child to Google Analytics, Meta, or any other advertising or analytics provider. Our analytics record only which story theme you chose (for example, "Making friends").
We share your data only with service providers we use to operate our business:
We do not sell your personal information for money. Our use of the Meta Pixel to show ads to people who have visited our website may be considered "sharing" for targeted advertising under some U.S. state laws. You can opt out of this at any time (see Section 8).
We retain your email address and order information for as long as necessary to fulfill your order and provide customer support. Working files created while we write and illustrate your story (drafts, outlines, and illustrations) are stored for up to 30 days, so that a preview can be upgraded to the full book and so we can resolve any problem with your order. Your finished book file is kept so we can print, reprint, or replace your book if needed. You may request deletion of your data, including your book file, at any time by emailing help@growingminds.io.
We use cookies and similar technologies from Google Analytics and Meta (the Meta Pixel) to understand how visitors use our website and to measure our advertising. These record information such as pages visited, time spent on the site, and actions such as starting the story form or completing a purchase. They do not record your child's name or the details you type about your child; they record only which story theme you chose (for example, "Making friends").
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
We advertise on Facebook and Instagram. To do this, our website uses the Meta Pixel, a tool provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. When you visit our site, the Meta Pixel may share information with Meta, such as the pages you visit, actions you take (like starting the story form or completing a purchase), your IP address, and browser information. When you make a purchase, we may also send Meta a scrambled (hashed) version of your email address so Meta can match the purchase to an ad you saw. We never send Meta your child's name or any other details about your child.
Meta uses this information to tell us how our ads perform and to help us show ads to people who have visited our site, or who are similar to our customers. Meta's use of this information is governed by the Meta Privacy Policy.

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure third-party payment processing via Stripe. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
